Surface Energy [dynes/cm=mN/m]

Knowledge

Generally a good adhesion is achieved on a material with a high surface energy. Bonds are critical on low energy surfaces. In these cases, please contact one of our application consultants.

Materials with low surface energy: Rubber, polyolefins (e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene), silicone-containing paints, Teflon etc.

Materials with high surface energy: ABS, acrylic glass, aluminum, bronze, iron, glass, rigid PVC, copper, brass, polycarbonate, steel, zinc, etc.
